Cakes...Cakes...Cakes....:-P

I know I shouldn’t be driving, at least, not yet. My headache isn’t bettering. I feel like floating in the air whenever I walk or make fast movements. During the wedding party last night, I could only sit. The hungry big group of people walking here and there certainly didn’t make everything easier for me.

But, I drove anyway. It’s an invitation from a college friend to attend a cake decorating session. I’ve never been to such occasion so I went. Yeah, I know. I shouldn’t be driving. Sorry, for not listening to you, Jasmine.

I can’t say that the arrangement of the event was okay, but I tried not to set my ‘mode’ to perfection. After all, I had something more important to do: trying to concentrate with my ‘floating-in-the-air’. Besides, I came to have fun. I tried not to take my notes and instead had my camera ready for interesting objects.

The session began with a performance by a chef, Eugene Wong. He used a lot of chocolate moulds in his decorating. He did everything gently, the stirring, scraping, dusting, cleaning, etc, and yet accurately. Look at his cakes!

After three cakes, Chef Tan showed up and began by telling a joke about him and his brother who is also a chef. Then he began decorating using the same technique with the chocolate moulds with airbrush technique as his specialty. Words say that once he proved to public that he could decorate 60 cakes in 1 hour!! Applause…applause….

During the two demos, I realize that both styles of decorating are full of colours. Chef Tan uses a lot of sugar pearls every time. Only in one cake did he not use that. I personally didn't like using that because it 'disturbs' the eating process.

The cakes then were the door prizes. I had my eye on the mocha hazelnut mousse cake. It must be luscious, smooth and rich. YUM!Too bad, I didn’t get it….. :-((
