Losing Another Friend: Best of Luck

That morning I got a text.

'Dear friends,I'll be leaving for Riyadh to work for Carrefour. I will leave on January 14. Please forgive all my wrongdoings.'

I was tempted to call him, so I did.

He sounded happy. I mentioned that I was going to miss him and he asked for my email address with a promise to keep in touch.

We actually didn't work in the same branch so we aren't really that close. However, the committee's work here and there in the past got us together quite frequently. We even belong to the same 'confused' group: the customer service slash marketing slash selling. You could say being in the same boat made us speak 'the same language' (whatever the language is).

So, I was thinking that he might get a marketing position or something in promotion/ selling. He laughed when I told him my guess. 'No, it's a training coordinator position', he said. Upon hearing that,it was my turn to laugh.' Once a teacher, always a teacher', I thought.

After apologizing once more, we finally said our goodbyes. 'There goes another guy,' I said to myself.

How many more will go?
