Work has been on my mind these past a couple of weeks. Meeting with clients was unavoidable. I try to arrange my schedule into a client a day policy. It's hard to concentrate on meeting several clients on a day because meeting clients means multiple-preparation for the program specifications to offer, presentation slides, budget estimation simulations, materials to bring as samples and of course, the 'mental' preparation: the strategy of the talk and the way how you want to look in front of certain clients. To make me feel secure, I always bring my small notebook that can fit into my handbag.
I know, it sounds complicated. Well, for a control-freak and a perfectionist like me, it never hurts to be more than just being prepared. Moreover, the preparation really comes in handy. I mean, who would have guessed that the client would ask for the methodology for the teaching? Or, they ask for a formal presentation? The small notebook I have is versatile: it can be the medium for the formal presentation (using a projector) and at the same time leave a professional impression (eventhough it's not company notebook).
After all of that presentation, usually I would need a cup of nice warm tea and a good seating position.
Definitely. A visit to a client can be very tiring afterwards. I can't imagine those who can do more than one on a day.....
