If you happen to visit Cirebon, here are the list of things you can bring home or share with friends at the office:
1. Shrimp paste (terasi). It's one of the best produce in Indonesia,
2. 'Tjampolay' syrup. In Jakarta, I could only find the pisang susu, rozen or the lemon. You can buy flavors like sirsak (soursop) in Cirebon. Best of all? You pay only 10,000 rupiah/ bottle. What a bargain!
3. Rice crackers (rengginang). They used to come in shrimp and terasi flavor but now they have the cheese flavor variation. My friends went nuts eating these! They just couldn't stop munching!
4. Preserved fruits. My favorite is the frambozen. It's unusually sweet and sour. People say that the preserved ginger is also good. That's next on my must-buy list the next time I'm there. ;)
5. All kinds of crackers, including fish and melinjo.
And of course... don't forget to try the nasi jamblang... :D
