£$%&@!!! (Another Ugly Episode of My Working Day)

The first part of my day at work was fun today. That was before lunch. A few hours after lunch was so so. It's the third part of the day that made me want to scream.

I didn't know how much held up the request was but it came at my desk very late. The working hours for 'normal' people (and I'm calling it 'normal' because I have no such arrangement) was over in 1.5 hours. In the middle of the effort of trying to finish it the best I can, there's that call. "Please hurry, they're waiting. They're going to talk about it in a meeting."

A proposal from scratch, four pages long, with two versions of cost estimation. It wasn't even an hour from the time of the request.

@#%&$!!!!

I asked, "When did actually the request arrive to you?" "It's at eight thirty this morning...."

@£$%&!!!! Why wait THAT long if it'sTHAT urgent?

I then made a promise to finish the proposal and it was done in ten minutes.

It's already faxed. Phew, I thought.:) My phone rang.:( It's the boss. He said that I typed the wrong company details about branches.

@£$%&!!!! For God's sake! An hour only he gave me. A four-page proposal. Forget templates, I started from scratch. I wasn't surprised when he didn't say anything about the new points I'd added or how correct the cost estimation was. Wrong number of branches? Would the client even care???GGGeeezzzz...:( :( :(.

Before the day ended, the client called. She asked me to make another cost estimation and even a program proposal. She asked so nicely that even though she wanted it ready by the next morning and I was so emotionally tired, I prepared and then faxed it before I went home.

Oh, I hope I don't bore you with my £&%$@~!! but the speedy proposal request made me miss the meeting for a local event that I'd been looking forward to.

@~£$%&!!!!!

:( (sigh) :(
