Another Writing about Akbar

Akbar is one year old today. I wish I could say that time has flown but I can't. I did enjoy watching him grow, noting down what he is finally able to do and writing all about him in my other blog, dedicated just for him.

Anyway, back to that birthday thing. It had become a long discussion between my sis, her hubby, my dad and me.We just couldn't decide how to celebrate his birthday. Inviting kids in the neighborhood was one of my sis and dad's ideas. For me, Akbar is too young to know the meaning of becoming a year older. I personally am not thrilled about the idea of celebrating a birthday.Akbar's dad somehow had similar idea about birthday celebrating.

So, today we had a chocolate cake prepared on the table. Just the 6 of us around. I bought a candle and two gifts wrapped separately. Akbar's mom prepared nasi kuning and urap (which was prepared UNSUCCESSFULLY) with fried chicken, potato curry and spicy shrimp with quail(?) eggs.

It was short and sweet.
I was happy.

Later that day,my sis showed me a text message. The date was September 17,2008. It was from me to my sis.

It says,
'Just be patient,Sis. Insya Allah before tomorrow my nephew is going to be safely born.'

As usual, I don't know what I mean when I say/ write something. All I know was that I did want him to be born on Sept 17 because it was also a Nuzulul Quran day. A very special day.

I guess what I wrote there was a kind of prayer. And He answered mine. You could say, Akbar's a manifestation of His answer. Akbar is a reminder of how great Allah can be.

And so I named him Akbar, the Great.Subhanallah.
