Have Faith in Instinct part Three

One day she called letting me know that she was having a divorce trial the next day. I was surprised but not THAT surprised. She told me that for the trial our friend from high school offered her a favor to be her lawyer and she quickly took it. She didn't mention about the house or the car, she was worried about the children. At that time, I was sure that she would win the case. After all, she's the one with the family income and the kids were still under age.

What surprised me was the fact that her hubby stayed in the house during the trial period when he should have moved out based on the Islamic law. As if her suffering were not enough already, her father in-law made a pass at her when he visited the house and no one was around. During the trial period. TWICE. @#$*@%@$#!!!!! What the h*** is this family made of? Now the father!?!?

On the phone, my friend told me that the reason of her split was because of a line that her husband frequently said, 'You can't be at work all the time. Please pay attention to the children. Take care of the house.' In other words, he wanted more of what she had already offered. And finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She filed for a divorced. He was surprised. His family was, too. They tried to persuade her to cancel the plan. But I know her pretty well. She's strong and patient but no one can step on her toes too long. She can handle the pain but I agree that enough is enough. So she continued with the original plan -- she wanted to divorce him.

One evening, after a long, hard working day, before the divorce decision was settled by the way, she came home and found that everything in the house had gone missing. I visited her house often and I know that her stuff was not new. They were more like dirty and worn out because of her kids' activities. She has two small kids who like to spread toys all over the place and play everywhere. The discolored sofa, the dining table and the chairs, the cupboards, the air con. EVERYTHING was gone. Apparently the husband got a truck and took everything away. %$%$@@#%$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hatred beyond words. That's how I felt.
