New Year BBQ Celebration

New year's eve, eventhough considered special by many, is just another night for us.Staying up late in the eve, let alone going out and celebrating in a hotel or cafe, is an achievement. The reason why I wrote about this particular year is because there is a BBQ time.

So the day started by my Dad and my bother buying all these supplies: shrimps, sirloin steaks, frozen french fries, frozen vegetables. I bought a pack of mozarella cheese, onions, sausage, sweet corn and a jar of barbeque sauce (which I honestly thought is necessary to make the ingredients tastier). We have never had a BBQ party before in the family so we were so excited when we started it.

Dad started a small BBQ fire and the girls arranged the already chopped steaks, mozarella, sausage bits, onions, and sweet corn on the bamboo skewers. We dabbed a little bit of the BBQ sauce and we're happy just thinking how it would turn out.

To quicken the process, my Dad used a hairdryer... Yes... a hairdryer. It worked perfectly fine, but since the heat was a little bit too much, the fire burnt the highly expected mozarella cheese bits... hiks.... One lesson from experience. Well, we were still quite excited with the results and we happily returned to the table to start eating. You know what? We started what was supposed to be a New Year's eve BBQ celebration at 7.30 on December 31. I don't know if it is counted as a New Year's eve already. What do you think? :-)
