Pregnant Woman Wants ....

On the Monday before, she had a pregnancy test pack and it came out negative.

On Thursday, I thought I saw her a little bit different. To begin with, her cheeks starts to get bigger (she's chubby, alright. But I could swear that those were bigger that they used to be.... ;-)). Funny walks (seems it is hard for her to walk with her thighs closed....hahahaha). And an enormous appetite.

When I say 'enormous', I mean it. I skinned and cut a half papaya. She'd go back and forth to the refrigerator to get the juicy chunks. I thought.... hmmm.... that's OK. papaya is good for your digestion anyway. And most importantly, she'd eat.

I made a bowl of salad out of the vegetable pieces that I thought would be a waste to throw away. It has everything in it: carrots, potato, broccoli, cauliflower, boiled eggs, you name it. As the papaya chunks, it did not last long, either. She said that it tasted good. I said to myself...hmmm.... vegetables are good for her too, aren't they?

Later I found out that she's having her worst morning sickness, so worst that she sometimes could not put anything into her stomach. To make the matter worse, she has had requests that are beyond the situation. Living in a small 'kabupaten' in the middle of what you could call a 'praire', she'd ask for Hokka hokka bento, seafood, red apples. It's only natural that she can't eat much since there isn't many to choose from, right?

In the morning before she went back to her home, I cooked breakfast which consist of freshly steamed rice, 'oseng-oseng cumi', raw veggies, fried eggs, fried sausages, and a big mortar portion of 'sambal' (that I made carefully as not to be too hot but turned out to be very hot since I put some 'cabe rawit merah'). Even before I finished cooking them, she'd already go back and forth to the dining table poking the cucumber (her favorite, by the way....) into the hot 'sambal'. Then afterwards, she took a plate of rice with a little bit of everything, including the 'sambal' and (another) cucumber pieces. I was worried when I saw her eating for I know she told me once that the morning sickness is not as much as a drag compared to the stomachaches she had after having hot and/or spicy food. The doctor warned her about premature abortus if her stomach should have this problem. I definitely was very worried, but I kept silent and watch her happily eating. At that time I had to struggle with the guilt if something wrong happened. All I could do was pray that God would bless the food and give the best of it to her.

I did not receive any news of stomachache whatsoever till now. Alhamdulillah.
