Different from the trips I've had (specifically the trips paid by the company.:-D ), the airport that day was crowded. Long queues were everywhere, people were busy with every luggage they brought. With all the hectic activities, the long hall seemed small and somehow the air conditioner was not successful to do its work.
Amidst everything, I still felt thankful that my friend could get me tickets with reasonable price for my trip to Semarang. And for me,being thankful was to wait patiently in the line, take slow short steps and wait again in the line to pay the airport tax.
The boarding room was occupied by me and the other three passengers when I entered. One by one, people started to fill the room.
One young woman sat in front of me.She looked restless.I gave quick glances to find out what she wore that day: one glance to find out the shoes she wore, one glance to find out what blouse she wore, and so on. (Okay, okaaaay!I can be THAT nosy sometimes. Hahaha).
After some rounds of glances, I found out that she wore white sneakers, a 3/4 jeans, and she had two handphones. She wore a white shirt, a thin one as a matter of fact. It was so thin that I could see her undergarment protruding here and there, trying to support her you-know-what. Looking at her cheeks covered by lots of pimples, I could tell that she's probably in her early 20s. Her way of sitting was quite attractive and it showed people that she's a metropolis type of girl. She has an oriental look and she looks like a true Jakarta citizen. Or at least I assumed she does.
Satisfied by the result of 'collecting' her image as if she were a puzzle, I began to look away and concentrated on my reading.
In the middle of the waiting, she reached for her phone and dialled a number. At first, I couldn't hear what she said. Her voice came out louder and louder each time the line was spoken.
"Opo?Yok ojo ngono seh!"
"Hayah! Mosok aku sing arep dikon njemput."
"Randuwe duwit aku ki. Mung ono rong puluh rongpuluhe," her hands reached into her wallet and took a twenty thousand rupiah.
"This is all I have right now."
All lines were said in a thick and heavy Central Javanese accent.
I almost failed to restrain my laughter. I would prefer to laugh, but the room was still quite empty. She would have found out that my laughter was about her if I had.
Hmmm, looks definitely could fool someone. In this case, it was me. :-)
