HEAT = ....

We have had black outs in the past but never this worse. It's definitely easier to handle the teachers because they could stay NO MATTER WHAT and make themselves comfortable in the teachers' room with the windows open to get some fresh air.

But in classes?
Students?

Well, first of all, we couldn't open the windows. Kids nowadays, they like to shout to their mom, or dad, or driver or their friends who are a floor above or below theirs while opening the window and putting more than half of their bodies out of the window. Nothing special. Just to vent their shouting abilities.

Second of all, the emergency exits are not open. For the same reason: safety. Third of all, the black outs happen during the most of hot time 15.00 - 17.00 and during busy classes with no less than 15 - 20 students per class in the 17.00 - 19.00.

So, when teachers went to classes, the 'torture' began. First, the elevators were off. Then the air conditioning system. Heat certainly causes restlessness and fatigue. No one can seem to concentrate, neither the teachers nor the students. The situation brought the attention of the branch manager to purchase electric fans for classes. But I mean, for each class? We're gonna need like 15 fans and we've got only 2. :-o

I saw one whole class sat on the floor in the hall with a teacher teaching on a chair. I believe it was a discussion on adjective for reading skills. Their faces were beyond description. I guess my face was too because I didn't know how I felt when I saw them. The teacher gave me a smile. She forced that. Naturally. I quickly passed the crowd, ran to the teachers' room where it's quiet, resisted the urge to cry but swore at the same time.

After surviving the 15.00 - 17.00 slot and an hour for the 17.00 - 19.00 slot, the officers decided to call it a day. My friend had a practice teacher doing the 'show' so I was more than happy to replace her to announce that everybody could go home at 18.20.

And the swearing?
Yes, I still do that until NOW.
The building owner allowed the lamps to be on but switched off the line for the air conditioning system.
That's one good reason to KILL SOMEONE, don't you think?
I just have to find out which one!!!

AAARRRGH!!!!
