What A Day!

I know I’ve been tired lately. So tired that I sometimes thought I’d never make the day. I thought, nobody and no events would help me get through this week. But I was dead wrong.

One of the reasons why I was tired is the extra hours I used to teach extra classes. I was so happy when the he told me that he needed time to adjust to his new position and decided to postpone the class till June. Anyone who has too much work would just be grateful if he/she could have a break a week or two, including me. Postponing his sessions would mean more time to sleep till late morning. Hahahaha.

Then, he gave me the course fee which was already due last week plus some extra. YIPPEEE!!!

Someone who owed me money paid the second installment.

About two months ago, there was this father who wanted his son to study in my institution but didn’t have enough money to pay for the first installment. His son insisted that he study English. The father then asked for a scholarship but we didn’t have the program. He was a few thousand rupiah short. Suddenly, I have this crazy idea. I loaned him the money and he agreed to return it back in three installments. I never heard from him since.

Yesterday, his face crossed my mind all day and I wondered how he’s been and whether his son loves his English lesson. At 7 pm, someone knocked on my door and I could see a familiar face. The father that had been on my mind!!! Talk about sixth sense. Hehehehe. I shook his hand and he started to chat. His face was fresher than the first time I met him. At that time he looked tired, traces of tears on his cheeks and … rather smelly. He looked fresh and wore clean T-shirt now. In the middle of his talk, he started to search for something and realized that he couldn’t find it. He asked me to call his home and the thing he looked for (an envelope) was in his other shirt, at home, of course. I laughed a lot, laughing at his funny and full-of-regret face. It didn’t matter that he misplaced the money he owed me. The fact that he’s there, remembering that he owed me the money, not to mention having the drive to return the money to a total stranger really brightened my day.

At the end of the day, I got a late birthday present!!! Thanks a lot, lil' sis. You really made my day.... :-)

God works in His mysterious ways. He knows I needed His strong hands to carry my tired body. He did. He made my heart smile.
