After a five-day training program, I found that my energy had somewhat drained and my body was too sore to even enjoy the farewell luncheon on the fifth day. During that time, I've sat next to friends from all over Indonesia and got a chance to catch up with their latest joys and 'ordeals'. It was certainly not the main attraction since I also had the chance to inject myself with new stuff the world has brought us in the institution. I've got to say, being the first occasion on talking and discussing the importance of being a 'local' scientist by doing 'local-but-might-bring-global' experiments in classroom really gave crude inspiration to try them out in the classroom.Expecting to have reports and results of some research, I found that not all participants shared the idea I had in mind. One participant whose presentation I attended talked about his techniques in dealing with errors in a class that wasn't his own. What made matters worse, he taught that class only twice and only during those time that he did the research.During his presentation, I kept on hoping that he would say something like,"Audience, this is only a preliminary step for further research". But I was in for a disappointment. Too bad he didn't mention that.
Compliment I must give to the committee on the food. They were always fresh and the effort to look for varieties was superb.
I am really looking forward to the next 'injection', 'reunion' and delectable food.:-)
