With all happenings around me, God just knows what's best for this recently-tired soul.
First, He MADE my saturDAY by releasing me from my morning session with the neighbor. When I stopped by at the office, He made sure nothing happened during this test I was in charge. Though no one seemed to show up early to prepare for the next test of the day (and thus showed me also that NO ONE cared!), I was happy enough to make a contingency plan which was not an actual contingency since they had NO plan AT ALL by 13.00 (for a 15.oo test!).
Then, I called for a friend who's leaving the next day to have a short lunch together. It was all I'd expected: the laughter, the talk about memories, the future plan and other unimportant stuff. It's just too bad that they don't serve the spaghetti pesto that I adore.
The session on Sunday morning with another neighbor was called off so I had plenty of time to do my house chores, picked up books for my departing friend, went to her house, said my goodbyes and went to a local cloth store to buy some materials to make new long skirts. The complex where the local cloth store is around is usually full of street vendors. The local 'kue mangkok' has been a regular for me. The smell of 'sate padang' invited my nose to approach to the stall and the sight of that yellowish hot thick broth made me order one portion with no rice cake chunks. It tastes great: hot, peppery, spicy sauce, big and succulent pieces of beef.
For so many times when people recognize me at the mall, stores, shops or on the street, it feels alright. I don't mind all the attention and courtesy. But, there, at a 'sate padang' street stall, I felt so free. Not worried about being seen or recognized. I can open my mouth as wide as I can. Sit any 'style' I want. Look around and study everybody around me. There was no barrier of status either. At that time, I was just 'me'. I felt weirdly peaceful.
After finishing my 'sate', I hurried to my car, hoping I could have time to ask about the stone pot's price. On the way, I stopped at a gas station and saw a full bow of rainbow. It was so beautiful. I pointed that to the gas man and he said that he has never seen any rainbow ever since he worked there. Well, it's good that he had me there otherwise no one would show him that. Hehehehe.... The stone pot seller was already closed when I got there. I can always come back tomorrow.
In total? It was quite a weekend I needed, if I can't call it 'perfect'.
