Blogging for Society

With my sling mini bag full of stuff: camera, tissue box, a bottle of cayuputi oil, two pens, a notebook, and some money, and a larger red one to nest my pack of candy, two bottles of water, a pashmina, a sarong (for praying), my IELTS plus book, four eggrolls and two ketan bubuk (a lot, eh? :) ), I made my way to a building in Thamrin area.
'It was going to be an adventure,' I thought. I didn't really know what to expect. Would the room be too cold? Would the event take a long time to finish? Would I meet new friends? Would it, eventually, make me 'belong' to a new community and thus, lead me to a new way of looking at my blog? So many questions (still they are not the reason why I brought so many stuff that day :D ) ...

I arrived too early. Many people from the media were just getting themselves ready and the bloggers were waiting impatiently to get the tickets. My friends finally arrived and as soon as we found comfortable places to sit, we had our own 'picnic session'. :D I was glad we could be away from all the 'formalities' and get 'wild' with our food and our own discussion.

What's interesting to know (and obviously was something new for me) was that the bloggers form communities and make seriously beneficial social activities for example kampanye anti kelaparan, 1000 buku, visits to foster homes and many others. The topic this year, 'Blogging for Society', truly highlighted social issues other than blogging discussions that were held later after lunch.

I wonder what the topic for next year will be ....
