Within the reunion committee I am involved with, I've met some people who I was not very close with as a junior high school student. You can say that the meetings with them is a form of reunion, a small one.
There is a guy who works in a magazine and he is a representative for the Indonesia branch. He is asuccessful businessman now. What's so interesting about him is his appearance. He is tall and well-dressed. Almost like a model. :) In high school, we used to think he has a liking to his own gender. Now that we meet almost twice a week, he does have that body language and he speaks 'dirty' sometimes, but he's kind deep down. He always says that he's still in a journey of finding what's right for him. He has changed religions in his effort to find the true meaning of becoming a man in this world. He was Catholic, then he converted into Moslem. Now? He is a Buddhist. :) He is a vagan, too.
Another guy works as an event organizer. His nickname was ***** (censored) Hombre. He didn't and does not look like one so I have never had any idea why his friends have called him by that nickname. He was married with a child who is now in Junior High School (OUR Junior High School). :D His wife left him for another man and it gave him a traumatic experience. So traumatized by the experience that he decided to leave his girlfriend (with whom he had lived with for 6 months) because she asked him to marry her. I asked why he didn't propose to her, he said that he didn't want to start the experience all over again. Well, I kept my comment to his story to myself when he told me that. :x
There are only two girls in the committee. I am with a friend whom I also knew vaguely when we were in high school. She continued her study in Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan and has been working here and there as wedding make-up artist and a cook. She was married at the age of 22 and her oldest son is already in Senior High School! :r
Wanna know what makes me 'connect' with them? They expect nothing from their status as the committee members, they are willing to meet and are amazingly cooperative. Not to mention dedicated. This is what I love about organization. People can have so many colors, but when the purpose is ONE, we care only about one thing: how to make it happen. :y
