The Ring

Unlike any other rings I have had, this one almost never leaves my left ring finger. For now, I even wear it while I sleep. No, it's not because of its ridiculously expensive price. I can assure you that.

A day after the farewell party when I finally opened the gift, a colleague mentioned why they chose this particular shape. 'It's YOUR type of ring, right Miss? The one with rows of diamonds. Just like one of your rings.' Having heard that, I just wanted to hug her. I almost jumped with surprise. How thoughtful!! That's not the only surprise I had that day. She then said, 'Mr. J chose the model.' I looked at my male colleague face who was sitting behind me. I didn't know what kind of face I was wearing then but he blushed after he saw the look on my face.

I don't know whether it's a coincidence or not but the ring has 12 small diamonds and one large piece. I have worked in my institution for 13 years and I spent 12 years in this particular branch. It's like every small diamond represents a year. It's a weirdly interesting fact that makes the ring one of a kind. I am liking it.
