Surviving Part Two

If it's one thing I'm worried when I am in a new place, especially in a crowded and traffic jam-my area, is not being able to come on time. I do my calculation for the time spent on the journey but I could be mistaken too at times. A friend from high school has a nickname for me, Daff who's afraid of the traffic jam. She gave up asking me out or meeting in the business district area. I'd easily turn down the request without blinking my eyes.

The traffic to Mangga Dua area in the afternoon is slightly manageable. It's busy in the morning and slows down after eleven before it becomes irritating again after 2. From then on till 4, it's relatively quiet. And then the 'magic' happens at 5. It seems that everyone is in a rush for home and there's a long queue. At 6, the road is empty once again. Some food sellers begin to open for business. At 9, the road is quiet with some kids' voices here and there. When it's time to go home, traffic is easy. I pass a line of seafood restaurants on Gunung Sahari area which I think I'll pay a visit. The many parked cars is enough to sign people that the food there is enticing.

Thankfully, I have my parking pass now so I don't have to pay as much as 19K rupiah for a day's park. I still haven't decided whether I would stay at a boarding house or not since the weather has been relatively 'dry' recently. I have asked someone to look for it but I still hope that I don't have to live in one. We'll see.
