My Bla Bla Bla (A Boring Song)

If people ask me, 'What's your job?', the first answer would be, 'I'm a teacher.' It's just a straight one. I don't care whether I haven't had a 'real' class for more than two terms. I could seem to disregard the fact that my work involves training prospective teachers, training strangers who happen to love teaching, monitoring clients' progress, hunting for projects and many more.

In short, I don't really care what they think about my profession. Is it a low level type of job? Is it a low-paid job? :) Is it a boring work? They can think of anything they want. :D

I know the profession of a teacher seems to have less and less 'honor'. Kids nowadays would rather become a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman etc. Rarely a teacher.

How people value a teaching profession is more or less like how people value a housewife. It's just suitable for a homebody type.No career path, no salary, no social life, nothing. Boring. But, what would happen if a country is filled with lousy housewives? One can only imagine.Teachers more or less hold similar role. This is one job that no time nor person can destroy, I'm afraid. :D No profession is a waste. That's why I think people should respect each other's job.

About being appreciative,I believe that we are how we see we are. We should start from ourselves. If you're a doctor but you cheated on your way of becoming one, then you're just a person holding the title. If you are a teacher and you show people that you're ashamed of your profession, people would treat you they way 'you want to be treated': a person who is not happy with what he's doing or probably a person who feels trapped in his work life.

The next question is then, 'How do you expect people to show appreciation at what you're doing?' Would a doctor in a remote village, a very good one, ask for a lot of money after he cured a villager who had nothing but lambs? Would I, as a teacher, ask for flat rates from people regardless of who they are, what they want to learn, or what their social status is? Does it mean that only when a psychologist is paid by a lot of money by the hour is he appreciated? I'm not going to answer that.:)

Excuses about how friends might judge you for not willing to ask for more 'appreciation' and thus it would show that you're worth something? It's not making any sense at all.
