With a short list of events for the D-day, I was not worry at all. Until I remember that this is supposed to be a religious event. Having a female MC to lead the event is not widely recognized by this culture. Deep inside I kept on saying, 'It's the mother's request. Come on. Who can beat that?'. And then, I was calm a little.
I was positioned next to the door. Standing. Everybody else was sitting down on carpets. I got a perfect view for some photo shoots. YIIIPPPEEE! Then, the ceremony began. My part as an MC was on.
I was shaking. My notes were totally in their dancing mode. It was one of the most nervous moments in my life. Thankfully, everything went well. From time to time, I switched my notes to my Nikon to capture some priceless moments. MCing and photographing at the same time. Me and my camera in my gamis? Can you imagine that?
Before I knew it, everything's over. When it's time for the guest to give their blessings by shaking hands with the bride and groom, I sneaked out to the crowd. Though it was a work day, many of my old office people came. It's great to see them. It's a good feeling to see that everything went well.
Now, everything felt like a series of nice dream. The day I met my friend for the first time, the days when I was her superior and not long ago, the days when we're just pure friends also feel like a series of dream. She has her dream to chase, perhaps somewhere in Turkey. I have mine. I wish us both loads of happiness to have more series of nice dreams in the future. Insya Allah.
