Do They Know?

Never take anything lightly.
Concentrate in whatever you do.
Do the best you can.
The result does not matter as much as the effort.

That's how I was taught by my parents. I remember what happened when I was in senior high school. It was final test days. I heard from my friends that they're going to Pancoran area to BUY the key to the tests. It was becoming a public secret at school. You can pay this much for each subject for each key sheet.

I was furious. I told my parents. Mom said,"Why do you even think about it. You should know better that studying is the only way to pass and get good grades." Dad said,"Study. I wouldn't worry. Your scores would be as good as theirs. Minus paying anything." And so, I did. I studied. At the end of the semester, the scores were announced. I got 52 point something. A friend claiming he got the keys to the tests got 50. Since that moment, I never turn my belief to my parents. And all they taught me.

Life-long experiences told me the same news. No pain, no gain. Do my job first. Rewards come in so many forms. You won't believe my stories on this but I've got them in financial forms, chances to excel in many different fields just because I give everything a try, easiness in doing so many things as a result of habitual thinking schemes, creativity in practice, experiences, friends, maturity and many others. Even in the worst-est situation, I still believe that there's no coincidence. Everything is a God given scheme and it is either for me to reject or for me to embrace. At that time, I have everything I want. I strive, I get what I want.

Some generic rules apply.

(Almost) everybody wants what they don't have.
At times, we don't want what other people want.

I know what I want.
But,
Do they know what I want?
