It's been a while since my last posting. I honestly don't have anything to write. I've been seeing only glooms, bleaks and darks. Besides, it's 01.45 and it means I have less than 15 minutes to update if I want to sleep before 2.
Old and senior actors. The above 50 years old actors.
I've been longing to write posts about these outstanding actors. My admiration is beyond physical factors, believe me. And up to now, I still consider their acting as some of the bests. Who made it on my top 5 list? Aside from Dustin Hoffman, Sean Connery, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, here they are in random orders.
1. Gene Hackman
Knew him the first time in Superman wide screen series. Not a very interesting role at that time. I love his acting in Mississippi Burning and the famous The French Connection. Tough, cold and full of determination.
2. Tommy Lee Jones
Love, love, looove him in The Fugitive. He's cool, hard in the outside but quite an amusing person. The kind that makes you feel safe and secure. Ihik.
3. Morgan Freeman
I saw his acting in Robin Hood with Kevin Costner back in 1991. His face was full of make up because of his role as a barbarian. Back then, it was his voice that took my attention. And then I saw him again in Unforgiven, Outbreak and Se7en. Villain or protagonist, he's so graceful. He's got that thing: charisma.
4. Michael Caine
Charming and witty but a bit naughty at times. That's what I think he is. Or, is it just his acting? I've seen him in many war movies such as The Eagle Has Landed. One role that I didn't really like was the acting he did for Cider House Rules. The plot was a bit flat and so he didn't have enough chance to show his acting ability. But one thing is for sure, his accent is second to none. Hmm, if there's ever a movie about Mr. Caine, Jude Law will be the best candidate to play him.
5. Anthony Hopkins
What else could we say about him? Serious acting with a lot of attitude. And my oh my, this person has grace. As a villain or as a hero, he's like Sean Connery, Al Pacino and Morgan Freeman:they do every role with such grace.
So there. My list. My top 5 actors who are older than 50 and not necessarily handsome but their acting are worth watching. What about yours? Are there names you want to change?
